Can you describe your company in a few words?
MDOTM is the European leader in the development of AI-driven investment strategies. With over 50 people involved through our R&D and LAB, we have one of Europe’s biggest AI-focused investment teams that provides institutional investors with portfolio advisory and asset allocation services for over €750 million in assets under management. We believe that by combining the scientific method with artificial intelligence, it is possible to support and better inform investment decisions through an unbiased and holistic view of financial markets. We achieve that with our proprietary investment methodology called ALICE® (Adaptive Learning in Complex Environments) that our clients leverage to enhance their investment processes, improve their asset allocation and launch new investment solutions.

How exactly are you innovative?
We have been pioneering AI-driven investment strategies and building a team of scientists and finance experts since 2015 with the mission of building the best technology for investment decision-making. We believe that solving complex problems requires bridging economic theory and real-world practice. So far, we have invested roughly 75% of our budget in R&D while having close ties with academia through our research center, the MDOTM LAB, where we collaborate with university professors, Ph.D. and master’s students to establish the real financial significance of the statistical research findings.

Luxembourg is one of the most significant innovation locations and FinTech hubs in Europe, with a decade-long tradition of best practices across asset and wealth management. We are at a moment when the industry is undergoing a profound shift in both clients’ preferences and product innovation. We believe that being close to Luxembourg’s fast-growing and competitive ecosystem will be critical to accelerating our growth. We also feel that many institutional investors will benefit from the support of our technology to enhance their investment processes or launch new investment solutions.
